Friends of the Doubling Point was organized to protect, preserve, and maintain the Doubling Point Lighthouse, which still serves as a navigational aid for mariners of the
Kennebec River, and to ensure public access to the lighthouse property for historical study, for educational groups, and interested citizens. Additionally, we aim to protect and regulate the use of the property so that our purpose does not become a nuisance to the residents of the surrounding towns or to its immediate neighbors.
